I was watching Oprah the other day, as she talked about some of her favorite foods. Among them was this Turkey Meatball from Trattoria Mollie. I used this recipe as inspiration for the pork sausage meatballs I made tonight. And since I didn’t really follow the recipe, I can’t speak for the Polpette alla Mollie exactly, but I can say these were good. So go make a meatball! This means you, too Kelly. I’ll be glad to try your recipe for a fabulous meatless ball if you have one.

I make a mean TVP ball (that’s textured vegetable protein for all you non-vegans out there). Incidentally, I giggle every time I hear the word “meatball”. It’s all Dave Matthews’ fault. He said something at a concert once, and I can’t remember what it was exactly, but it left me with the lasting impression that “meatball” is one of the funniest words in the english language. I’ve never told anyone that before, but now seemed an appropriate time to share.
