Curad Spray Bandage

Filed under: general — bdparker @ 10:13 pm

Well, Target closes an hour after LifeWay does, so after leaving work, I headed over to the consumerist Mecca. It wasn’t until I got inside that I realized that in my khaki and burgundy work clothes, I was disguised as a Target Team Member. It was only a matter of time before people started coming up to me asking, “Do you work here?”
I went in seeking Liquid Paper and Liquid Band-Aid, but came out with White-Out and Spray Bandage. This Curad Spray Bandage is really cool (not to mention infinitely cheaper than the Liquid Band-Aid). But you know how whenever you buy something new you want to try it out right away?
You see my predicament, I believe.

Sing it, Nora. You got me listening, and you’ve got me on a string.

I’m pretty sure that banana nut milkshakes from Cook Out are one of those foods with negative calories. I don’t know if you’ve ever tried to suck peacans through a straw or not. It’s a workout. So there.

I went to see a rock show tonight. But what I ended up seeing was every man and woman in this club kneeling and praying out loud. I saw men with tattoos and ponytails raising their hands in praise. I heard scores teenagers in baggy pants and spiked collars, backed by roaring guitars, chanting “I just know Jesus is the Way, I just know Jesus is the Truth, I just know Jesus is the Life, I just know Jesus is my God!” My ears are still ringing from the music, and my heart is still leaping from the words Kevin Young, lead singer of Disciple, read. I went to a rock show where people were moshing and crowd surfing, taking in screaming vocals, and when the lead singer put down his guitar and picked up a worn leather Bible, the crowd cheered louder than they had before. Then, we waited in perfect silence to hear words from Acts chapter 4 and Mark chapter 2. And God said to me “You have forsaken your first love.” Where is my passion for the One who has saved me? Why don?t I feel that excitement and passion daily that makes me want to scream “Hallelujah, Praise God, Thank you for the Day Lord!” God, don?t let me forget the joy of being called your son. Don?t let me forget the excitement of being able to take all my anxieties to the creator of the universe and the God who died and defeated death.

This 3 hour break between classes may be a little generous. I’ve been to the computer lab, Starbucks (It’s a day for warm drinks), I NY Pizza, and back to the computer lab, and class doesn’t start for an hour and a half.
It’s cold and rainy outside. What’s up with that? I’m paying for summer school. I’m waiting for somebody to provide the summer. If I don’t see some sun soon, I’m going to ask for half my money back.
