Last week I started classes at GMU. I’m going to the Fairfax once a week in the process of earning a Masters in Sofware Engineering. It’s been almost three years since I was in school, and it’s all coming back to me. I first knew it when I stayed up late Tuesday night studying for a quiz and got up to study some more on Wednesday morning. (We won’t bother with defining late. Just remeber I’m older than I used to be.) Turns out I could have done the quiz without waking up at all.
On campus I was aware not so much of looking too old to be in college, but just like one of the old guys on campus. So, since I was 20 minutes early for class and my professor was 35 minutes late, I started to take notes on how I can look more like one of the regular undergrads.
- jeans
- lose the leather briefcase
- GMU T-shirt
- flip-flops
- look more confused (tired?)
- stop paying for everything with Visa Platinum card — suggestion: Mason Money
- I haven’t actually seen undergrads doing this, but more handstands in the hallway can’t hurt
I’ll let you know how it goes. Meanwhile, check out the handlebar on this fellow.
you have a leather briefcase? cool!
